Two Trophy races down and we're looking good,currently Stu is second overall and Steve at eigth in the senior category and Barry fifth after rounds at Devon and Derby.
After an epic journey down to round 1 of the Trophy series and racing in the sunshine of devon the lads revelled in the dry and dusty conditions and came away with excellent results with Stu grabbing an excellent 5th, Steve in 16th and Malcolm in a solid 33rd in the senior race and Barry an equally impressive ride in the highly competitive Vet over 50's coming in 5th.
Round 2 in Derby saw a full squad arrive in very different conditions,a rain shower prior to the vets races changed the heavily cambered course into one that challenged the technique of all the riders.In the first vet race with a field of 60+ riders the crashes came thick and fast and the first couple of laps were a bit of a lottery but as the race settled Steve and i came away with a creditable 19th and 29th respectively,and the over 50's setting off a minute behind us Barry came away with another 5th place and Cliff a solid 10th.For the senior race with a German rider and a large contingent of Belgian riders the sun shone and the course firmed up ,Stu got to grips with the course and conditions and eased to 6th place overall (and 2nd British rider) and with Steve Ward backing up his ride in Devon with another excellent 16th (10th British) Malcolm,hampered, with the onset of a cold and a niggling back injury still managed a creditable 40th.
